Heya all! :)

Figured I'd introduce myself - I'm emma! Actually, it's Marie Andersson, but long time ago somebody figured that my initials spelled "emma" so that nickname sorta stuck with me!

I'm the owner of P2P Unite and having several years of interest invested in the issues the Swedish Pirate Party deals with, it was a natural choice to join up! I eventually became the international liaison for Sweden, and this here place is an attempt at creating a base for international collaboration.

How about you all introduce yourselves as well! :D

Hello from Austria

Postby Florian Hufsky » Tue Jul 18, 2006 8:29 am

Hi,

I'm Florian - initiator of the Austrian Pirate Party.

Usually I'm pretty busy in the field of hobby game programming but right now I'm doing whatever possible to set up a Pirate Party in Austria (for this year's elections). Fortunately we already have some very helpful people and we hope to attract even more once we have finished our website and go ahead.

Hello everybody!

I'm a member of the Swedish Pirate Party. I live in Gothenburg and at the moment i'm studying physics and i'm aiming at a master in environmental engineering. So why not join a party concerned with the environment instead you might ask? Well, for the moment the pirate partys questions are more important. Europe and the US needs to wake up!

Hey all,

I'm also from Sweden, but spend just as much time in Copenhagen (Denmark), where I work and study. I still live in Sweden though, and have a few hours of commuting each week - which gives time for a lot of reading...

Currently, I'm writing my Masters thesis (Computer Vision and Computer Graphics related), so I don't really have a life except for that - besides discussing privacy issues and related on forums such as this 8)

Hi all,

I'm thebaldingone, but you can call me Andy. I'm a major contributor of News stories to p2pUnite and fairly passionate (I hope) about sharing files and the implications of this activity.

It's my firm belief that by organising we can at least bring some sense into the one-sided debate that is currently happening with file-sharing, "piracy" and the mainstream media.

I also believe that file-sharing and "piracy" are not the same, the file-sharer gives freely of his files (whether they be music. video, software) whereas the pirate seeks to vend his files and make a profit at the expense of those who create the content.

Thanks for having me...

Hi, just wanted to note two things concerning your website:

* As far as I know the English Pirate Party (UK) is a scam, I guess you'd better remove the link (http://www.pirate-party.co.uk/).

* you're missing two countries - Austria and Germany (see http://www2.piratpartiet.se/international)

Good luck!

'lo, my name is Daniél Lecoq, I'm a member and parlamentcandidat for Piratpartiet.se
I stand strongly against patents, especially software and medecine, and recently I've also started to worry about the '1984 - BigBrothersociety' Sweden have started to become.

In my spare time(wish I have lots since I'm unemployed), I play music, run DC hubs(well the hubs are running even if I do other stuff : ), code c++(GPL-progs), spread propaganda for PP and spend time with friends.

Hi, my name is Kelvin Hirst and i live in Warrington England - however i spend just as much time in Sweden. Daniél Lecoq is one of my closest friends, and thats where i am staying at the moment. The current Pirate party issues have interested me very much. After quite some waiting and searching for a UK Pirate Party, i have decided to start my own ( one that isnt a scam). So this is how the next few weeks of my time will be taken up. Someones gotta do it :D

Great forum you have here, and I look forward to speaking to you all soon.

Thanks,
Kelvin / Ninja

Hello, call me BM.

I live most of the year in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I study informatics. Right now, I'm in the Netherlands working for a company specialising in media driven websites.

The reason I'm interested in Piratpartiet is because having studied a professional issues module, I found the current harmonised copyright, trademarks, and patents (ctp) system to be grossly biased in favour of large companies who already have a competative advantage over from-me-shed-son inventors.

CTP works, and to suggest removing it is too radical and will alienate a lot of potential supporters. This is why I support a reform of the existing system, instead of the destruction of it.
There are copyrights and then there are copywrongs
