Lets get some people together and get started in the UK

Hi all, I am midlands based in the UK.

I posted up a suggestion in the main area that we in the UK start to organise a little and get things started. My kick of suggestion is a conference call for interested parties on the 5th May and we can start organising from there.

I read a few of the posts on here and I think we are a fair way from being in a position to elect a leader etc. But for now we need to concentrate on setting up some operating structure and enable publicity to work.

Lets not get hung up on who is what....lets get the message broadcasting machinery working first and then step into the light with formed ideas and plans.

If people are interested in joining the call at 19:00 on the 5th of May PM me and I will provie the number. I use voipfone for the conf call service so feel free to check them out as connecting via your pc will cost you nothing then.

As much as I would love to do this, I think we might be getting ahead of ourselves. But surely we should at least wait until we have some more members before arranging any sort of national conference? And if we're going to do this, I'd recommend giving more than just two weeks notice.

I'll be there if the rest of you guys want to do this though. I'd suggest meeting up somewhere in the English midlands as it is kind of a central point in the UK.

I agree. I think what is needed is to get some sort of collective traction and organise from there.

Picking Party Leaders can wait till there are enough people to call it a Party rather than a small collective.

If the usual British apathy takes over again we may be stuffed already though.

A midlands meet sounds sensible. its in the middle of the country and the transport systems all pass through there.

How about a show of hands and I'll come up with a venue to suite.

The lead time for such a meeting will need to be a better than two weeks I agree. I was going for the "it's not hard to pick up the phone" vote there. Getting a body to travel is much harder.

Hello, guys. I've been watching these forums and have been hoping for a pirate party reboot. I also live in the midlands and would like to pledge my support but I've got a load of exams coming up so can't really do much except support you guys in these forums. I have no intention of going into politics but support this party, if it should come into existence.
