My message to Kurt

Postby Rafe » Thu Sep 21, 2006 10:30 am

I just emailed Kurt Seifried, the owner of the domain. CC here for inquiring minds.

Dear Kurt,

If you really intend to start the Pirate Party of Canada, thank you. I pledge all my support and skill to the Party, and to the movement for privacy and creative freedom.

To that end, I offer my help. If there is any way I can help hasten the party's creation, or the website's, I will. I could copyedit, write copy, administer a forum, or even help a little with graphics, web design, or campaign materials.

We've been talking about PP Canada on the PP International forum. Mostly, we've focussed on its absence. Please, we're all impatient to begin. If you're not ready to get a site going by yourself, do this at least: join us on the forum and talk about it. I'm sure that together, we will make it happen.

Yours,
Rafe Saltman

If you want to email him too, this is his address: dnsadmin@seifried.org
EDIT: we might have better luck with kurt@seifried.org

any answer yet?

Sorry for the long reply. No I haven't heard aything else from Kurt regarding the website and it doesn't look to be up yet.

Anyway, yeah I'm still very interested in getting this thing going so hopefully he'll respond to Rafe's email.

Pirate Party Canada logo?

Postby Rafe » Sat Sep 23, 2006 3:29 pm

Hey all, I've mocked up a logo based on the US one. It's quick and dirty; I want to stylize the leaf more.

Thoughts, everyone?

We shouldn't use the colour of any major party.
    Libs: red
    Tories: blue
    NDP: orange
    Bloc: light blue

I think I'm going to make it all-black, actually. We be pirates, aye.

ah, i c. I like the idea of each party's flag having some sort of national icon on it. Some parties are happy with just their domain name extention tho.

That's really kick-ass. :D

Except, it might not give people a serious impression of the party. Could be good, could be bad.
