The Pro Piracy Lobby

There are basically two ways of persuing politics within a democratic system. The first is by organising a political party trying to gain public support behind your ideas. The second is to try to influence other parties already in existance, either by direct communication with the political parties or by swaying the population at large.

We, the Pirate Parties, have chosen the first of these two options. Others have chosen the other path, using lobbying as their tool to achieve similar , though perhaps not identical, goals. Recently, they have taken the same step onto the international realm as we Pirate Parties did when we launched this site. I am reffering to the Pro Piracy Lobby.

Personally I think both ways will be needed if we are to achieve our goals. It is not enough to gain some political influence through elections if not at the same time the public opinion and thereby the other political parties has turned in favour, or at least not in direct opposition, to our ideas and aims.
