Invite: SCULL Meeting #4, Internal Party Structure and Management

Invite: SCULL Meeting #4, Internal Party Structure and Management

Hello again, Pirates!

It’s time for another SCULL meeting, aka, the PPI Standing Committee on Universal Liason on Party Labour! We happily invite you to the 4th SCULL meeting this year.

When: Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at 18:30 UTC/20:30 CEST/14:30 EDT.
Where: Big Blue Button https://bbb.piratensommer.de/b/gre-cnw-a9v

We look forward to continuing the conversation about the everyday work that goes into running a Pirate Party. In the past, we’ve discussed tech, graphics, and design, democracy tools, and now we would like to talk to you about internal party structure and management.

We want to know how you manage things in your party–what are the positions, what do they mean, and who holds what responsibilities? How do you manage volunteers? How do you go about delegating those responsibilities, following up, and making sure that everything that needs to happen *actually* happens? Maybe there is a process to go through before you do anything, or maybe you are more “do-ocratic” and believe that it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

In a way, this may be a challenging topic to discuss because it is broader, as opposed to the very specific and focused topics of previous meetings. Internal management of a party will no doubt vary among our members who reside in different countries, follow different rules, and are running parties of different sizes and structures…there may not be a set of “best practices” because what works best will largely depend on the state of your party. But that is precisely why we would like to have this discussion and learn from you about it.

So join us! And do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or any suggestions for what to include in the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you there!
