PPI Summer General Assembly Recap

Thanks to everyone who came to the GA. This GA had the largest number of Pirates from a wide variety of countries in a long time. We held quorum with 9 parties voting. In addition, a lot of old and familiar friends came by to visit. In total about 15 different countries were represented. As usual we discussed our continued UN engagement, support for Pirate activities, publication of policy blogs, Think Twice 5, PPI’s finances, membership fees, and the need to keep the organisation accessible to both established and emerging Pirate parties. A statute amendment to alter the statutes to weighted voting, one that would reduce the vote of non-paying …

GA Will Start at 13:00 UTC, Proceedings and Motions will begin at 14:00 UTC

The GA schedule for June 20th is now being updated. Based on the feedback received so far, there appears to be support for scheduling the GA in the early afternoon UTC. This schedule gives both western and eastern time zones a reasonable opportunity to participate. It would correspond to 09:00 in Chile, 15:00 for much of Europe, and 23:00 in Sydney. This appears to be the most balanced option currently available. We therefore announce the following preliminary schedule for the General Assembly: 13:00 UTC – Registration and quorum confirmation 14:00 UTC – Formal opening of the General Assembly 18:00 UTC – Planned closing time There are no elections for this …

General Assembly June 20, 2026 Feedback Survey

The next PPI General Assembly is approaching, and there are several organizational points that still need to be finalized. The GA has already been published, but without a confirmed time. We now need to agree on the schedule and make sure all parties and delegates receive the necessary information. As part of the preparation, we need to update Discourse (https://ga.pp-international.net/), publish the proposed statute amendments, and collect delegate information. One proposal is to start sometime between 8:00 and 16:00 UTC. We also ask for your parties to update us on any motions or any other business that you would like to share for the GA. We expect a relatively long …

General Assembly Will Take Place on June 20th

Pirate Parties International will hold a Special General Assembly (GA) on June 20, 2026. The meeting is being called following a special request from the Czech Pirates and other PPI members. The GA will take place online. At the PPI Board meeting on May 5, 2026, the Board agreed that it was necessary to call the GA without delay. The main reason is an urgent technical transition. PPI’s current technical services contract is ending on June 30, 2026, and the organization must decide how to ensure the continued operation of its communication, website, email, and related infrastructure. The Board also discussed the need to bring broader questions to the membership, …

Upcoming PPI Board Meetings Every Tues. at 17:00 UTC, next meeting 03.03.2026, 17:00 UTC

At the last board meeting we made the decision to keep all PPI board meetings at 17:00 UTC on Tuesday. While the rotating system was designed to assist members from around the globe to participate, in practice it meant that those towards the East or West extremes of UTC were excluded from half the meetings. As such, we hope that everyone can attend more frequently. If needed, we will change the schedule again to accomodate those that need another time. Our next PPI board meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 10th at 17:00 UTC / 18:00 CET. All official PPI proceedings, board meetings included, are open to the public. …
