Announcement: Spring General Assembly 2020!
Greetings Pirates,
A few months have passed since our General Assembly in December. The PPI board, along with the Pirate community at large, have been working hard. In addition to ongoing projects, regular online meetings and social events, we have increased activities and communication with our members through the launch of 4 standing committees. We are examining the ways that we can provide practical support to our members and the public to further grow and strengthen our vibrant international community.
While we are making progress, there is still a lot of work to do. Hence, there are a few things we would like to talk to you about!
It is time for us to get together with our members and have a small, one-day long General Assembly online. The Board of PPI would like to catch up with our members, present to you our work thus far, and gather your feedback. We would also like to give you a chance to submit motions and statute amendments, as well as address unfinished business from the last GA.
With that, we hereby invite you to participate in our online Spring General Assembly on Saturday, May.30th, 2020!
The General Assembly will be fully online and we will use the following Zoom room, provided to us by the Pirate Party of Norway: https://zoom.us/j/9303627084.
Please fill out the following sign up and needs assessment form to provide contact information and material for the GA: https://lime.ppi.rocks/index.php?r=survey/index&sid=667442
Participants should also submit motions and other feedback through the official GA Discourse: https://ga.pp-international.net/
As part of our efforts to increase communication and participation from members, we plan to have an additional one-day Fall GA in September, and then a larger one at the end of the year. Please be aware that there will be no elections of PPI officers until the last GA occurring in December 2020. The Spring and Autumn General Assemblies are solely for reports, new member applications and member submissions (motions, etc).
The deadline for you to submit statute amendments and new member applications is Saturday, May.2nd, exactly 4 weeks before the GA. There is no deadline to submit motions.
Each PPI member may have up to 6 delegates participating in the GA. You may submit the names of your delegates by filling out the sign-up form above or by emailing the PPI board: board@pp-international.net.
We are very much looking forward to getting together with you all. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for anything, do not hesitate to contact us.
We thank you in advance for your participation!
