Review of Activities
On January 28, 2025, Pirate Parties International (PPI) held its 338th Board Meeting, the first of the 15th Board. The following is a review of the minutes: https://wiki.pp-international.net/wiki/index.php?title=PPI_Minutes_2025-01-28
• Thomas Gaul stepped up from Alternate Board Member to fill a vacant Board seat.
• Sebastian Krone was reelected as the Treasurer.
• Alexander Isavnin was reelected as the General Secretary.
• Potential PPI Subsidiary in the USA: The Board approved an inquiry into establishing a PPI 501c3 exempted NPO in the United States. This step would allow PPI to engage in U.S.-based fundraising and outreach under a tax-exempt framework. A team will conduct a risk assessment and feasibility study to ensure this move aligns with PPI’s goals and legal obligations.
• PPI HQ (PPI e.V.) Statutes: The Board unanimously recognized and approved the new PPI e.V. statutes, effectively annulling the old Belgian PPHQ statutes. PPI itself will also join as a member of the newly established German entity.
• UN/ECOSOC Activities: We are assigning new ground passes for UN representation. The upcoming Quadrennial Report for the period 2021–2024. PPI is gathering content and examples of its activities to fulfill reporting requirements.
Stay tuned for more updates, please ask to join the PPI leaders email list, if you are not on it already. Requests should be sent to a board member.
