This week’s schedule includes our board meeting and Pirate Beer right before this weekend’s General Assembly! Everything you need to know about PPI’s December Online General Assembly.

Starting off this week’s schedule is PPI’s board meeting Wednesday, December 2nd. You can find us at BigBlueButton starting at: 2:00pm CET / 1:00pm UTC / 8:00am EST An audio alternative for the board meeting is @PiratesOnAir‘s live stream piratesonair.net. PPI’s Online General Assembly will be held Saturday, December 5th and Sunday, December 6th. We will hold the GA on the PPI Mumble server: mumble.ppi.rocks, port 64738. Freedom To Share is looking for translators quickly!

Freedom To Share needs one million signatures! They will start collecting them on November 15th. @darccio from @partit_pirata shares this link where you can go to contribute. The Freedom To Share initiative needs one million signatures calling for protecting the right to share files for personal use and non-profits. They call for the adoption of a legislative act providing for a waiver of copyright, related rights, and sui generis database rights for people sharing files via digital networks for personal use and non-profit purposes. The Massachusetts Pirate Party has released the schedule for their 2020 Party Conference starting this weekend Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th. If planning on attending, please register in advance they encourage anyone to who’s interested in the Pirate Party. They will email registrants the streaming details, especially participant details for the video conferences. The conference will be streamed live to their YouTube channel. There will be a pre-GA technical test Friday, November 6th, starting at 8:00pm CET.

There will be a technical test on November 6th to see if BigBlueButton will work for a General Assembly. The BBB channel can be found here. The times are: 8:00pm CET / 7:00pm UTC / 2:00pm EST It’s important all members send at least 1 delegate to this test. Anyone is welcome to attend and encouraged to do so in order to better test BigBlueButton for next month’s online General Assembly. The Pirate Party Luxembourg @Piratepartei has started a fundraiser to help the refugees in Moria.

Two months ago fires destroyed Greece’s largest migrant camp on the island of Lesbos leaving nearly 13,000 without shelter. Gilles from @Piratepartei sent this to the PPEU Mattermost on October 26th: Hello everybody, FYI: PPLU has started an action together with the ONG Boderline Europe to help refugees in Moria (Greece). The collected funds will be used to buy warm clothes (essentially good shoes and socks) to the asylum seekers during the winter. For 30€, every donator receives a special “Coffee to help” mug and a reusable face mask. 100% of the donations will be directly forwarded to the refugees. Know your voter rights and be your own best advocate on ELECTION DAY Tuesday, November 3rd!

I wrote this in August on the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. In it included resources on how to register to vote, check your voter registration how people have “mysteriously” fallen off the rolls, fill out your census, and if voting by mail where to look for guidelines and deadlines for each state. People have to address the big voter intimidation factor during elections especially now when armed militias who are supporters of Trump show up fully armed during peaceful gatherings many times in communities they’re not even from thinking anyone other than themselves are the problem.
