Passing of our dear friend and comrade from the Netherlands, Danny Werner

Dear Pirates, By now I am sure you have all heard about the passing of our dear friend and comrade from the Netherlands, Danny Werner: https://piratenpartij.nl/in-memoriam-danny-werner/ A lot of us knew Danny through the international Pirate movement, including many PPI and PPEU events/projects. He was a hard working and passionate Pirate and just an overall amazing human, and we will miss him greatly. 2024 UNOG Participation

We are thrilled to share that Pirate Parties International has once again secured ground passes, allowing our representatives to participate at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland (UNOG). We also have a team on the ground at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and will be sharing a separate blog about their activities soon. Furthermore, we are working now on getting a team together to participate at the UN Office in Vienna (UNOV). Our volunteer team is making an impact by attending events, making statements, and networking with other NGOs, International Organizations, and nation-states. September 13th Board Meeting and GA Rescheduling Updates

Ahoy Pirates, On August 16th we had our first board meeting since the intended summer General Assembly (GA) failed to reach quorum. Proposals were discussed about rescheduling the GA. It was voted on that we would delay the meeting until the winter, as this is still within the timeframe required by our statute of at least 1 GA per year. The dates of December 9th and 10th were proposed, and these will be voted on during or before the next board meeting. GA Quorum Issue and Upcoming Board Meeting

Ahoy Pirates, Alas we had an issue making quorum at the scheduled GA. There seem to be issues with the timing of our meetings, inactive parties that need to be reviewed, and active parties that need to join. At the next PPI Board meeting on Aug. 16, we will discuss ways to remedy this situation. Thank you all for your commitment to PPI.
