Pirate Parties International has increasingly advocated for digital rights in international forums. Our UNHQ representatives presented the importance of digital rights during their 2018 speech at the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and we also published the following statement that year for the Report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. We emphasize that digital rights are human rights, and global treaties must sanctify those rights and police nation states that both restrict access to digital services and violate privacy. Meme culture is great! Pirates love memes. Memes help people share ideas and jokes. But some greedy corporate content creators attack those who create memes. They sue individuals who create memes with no profit intention whatsoever. We must fight back against this! The publisher sent cease and desist letters. They threatened an Instagram account. And, they succeeded. They closed the account. They limited free expression. They destroyed their own creation. AI Working Group Review

The AI Working Group convened for its 3rd meeting immediately after the social media working group. We had a lot of new faces who brought different ideas about the types of AI activities that we should engage. We began with updates on building the Ollama AI and a Python server. Since the main leaders of those projects were not present, we will need to have another meeting to discuss these projects in more detail.  We devoted time to establishing task assignments. We discussed leveraging the open-source Scrum Board software. Participants provided ideas on other AI platforms, such as Mistral. We also discussed using existent AI models and some of our …

On April 17th PPI held a double working group event of the SCENE (social media) and AI groups. We present a brief overview of the social media working group here.
