Dear Pirates, We are pleased to invite you to the mid-year General Assembly of Pirate Parties International, which will take place on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022! As you know, we have been keeping the habit of having 2 GAs per term, our last one being in January which marked the end of the previous term. This upcoming GA will be one day long and will not include elections of PPI officers. As always we will have board and financial reports, acceptance of new members, statute amendments and motions. Happy Birthday, PPI. After 12 years, we look forward to our teens. Currently, 54 organizations are members of Pirate Parties International. Membership in PPI is open to parties and other organizations. Individuals can also become supporting members. The goals of the association are: a) to act according to the major interests and goals of our members, b) to raise awareness and widen the spread of the pirate movement, c) to support the Pirate movement and strengthen its bonds internally and externally, and d) to promote and support human rights and fundamental freedoms. #Pirates4Ukraine: An International Pirate Campaign to support Ukrainian Refugees
Pirate Parties International in collaboration with various PPI members are pleased to announce the official start of the ‘Pirates 4 Ukraine’ campaign. Pirates all over the world are devastated and angered by Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the resulting humanitarian disaster, and the violence and repression towards both Ukrainians and anti-war activists in Russia. One of our brave colleagues and Chair of the Pirate Party of Norway, Svein Mork Dahl, is spending time at the Polish-Ukrainian border delivering aid to those who need it. This aid comes in a number of forms, be it food, housing, transportation, information and anything you might think of as being necessary for everyday survival. …

Dear Pirates, The PPI Board invites all of our members to join in a discussion and planning session around Pirate Aid for Ukraine. We would like to bring everyone together to coordinate our efforts on an international level to support Ukrainian refugees in a number of ways. This includes donations for medical supplies, food, travel expenses, as well as information sharing and infrastructure to support access to information. These are only a few examples of what is currently needed and what will be needed in the future. Joint Statement by European Pirates and Pirate Parties International on Putin’s Aggression Against Ukraine
The Pirates of Europe and the world strongly condemn the actions taken by Vladimir Putin. It’s with deep sorrow that we watch the events in Ukraine unfold, and our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine, those suffering the consequences of this conflict, and those opposing the war inside of Russia. Dear Pirates, You are hereby invited to join Pirate Parties International for our first working group event of the year, “Introduction to PPI Standing Committees”. We felt that before we start getting the Standing Committees going again, it would be a good idea to have an introductory session first. Global Pirates elected new leadership for the coming two years
January 11th 2022 – Pirate Parties International (PPI), the global umbrella organisation of Pirate Parties around the world, held its 16th General Assembly on Saturday, January 8th, during which new leadership was elected. Every year Pirate Parties from all over the world elect half of PPI’s board. In this weekend’s election, a German Pirate, Gregory Engels, was successfully re-elected as the organisation’s vice-chairman. The chairwoman, Canadian Bailey Lamon, still has one year remaining on her term.
